What's 'a la mode' at Paris Fashion Week AW12

Bonjour! It's fashion week in wonderful Paris and the Cocorose team have been watching intently to see what the Parisian' call 'a la mode', that's what's 'in style' to you and me. A designer that's been making fashion waves across the blogoshere and the press is Karl Lagerfield for Chanel's 'New Vintage' AW12 collection. The name of the collection does exactly what it does on the tin, with its vintage inspired breezy and drop-waist silhouttes and it's elegant colour palette of rose, dove grey and pale blue along with plenty of added sparkle. Pieces from the collection included suits, evening dresses and trousers, a trend which was also mirrored by Dior the day earlier... We're detecting a trend for AW12! And to top off this Tre chic affair, the fashion elite were able to watch the show in the comfort of wicker armchairs, whilst nibbling away on jellies and macaroons, yum!

Early in the week we were treated to Raf Simons haute couture debut for Christian Dior. In contrast to Lagerfields fluffy vintage renaissance , Diors' newbie designer Simons opted for clean lines and structured silhouettes. Colour was riotous as canary yellow, tomato red and hot pink were incorporated into the pieces, as were floral and tie dye prints.
