Since Janan founded Cocorose London in 2007, we've been committed to redefining women’s footwear, driven by our vision for change and the need to challenge stereotypes and break societal norms that women wear heels.

We created the world’s first foldable shoe followed by our best-selling leather trainers and the UK's first vegan trainers made with cactus leather and recycled materials.

That’s why we’re Patrons of The Honeypot Children’s Charity and partner with Ecologi Tree Planting and First Mile Recycling. We’re constantly building on our sustainability initiatives, including the launch of our purposeful Kew range of vegan trainers, made with plant-based leather and recycled materials. Our Journey

Our story began at The Backyard Market in London's East End. A hot-spot for London's creative scene, this paved our way within retail and catapulted us onto the international footwear scene. We showed our collections globally, including Milan, Paris, Tokyo, New York and Las Vegas.

We formed a wonderful, 10-year partnership with BAFTA, collaborating on both the Film and TV Awards, and for many years, were privileged to collaborate with The Royal Ballet to design collections and work with the talented dancers at the Royal Opera House.

We continue to adapt and innovate to respond to the ever-evolving retail landscape. Our entrepreneurial journey has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride, but at the heart of our small business is the joy of the journey. Alongside celebrating the highs, we have had our fair share of heart-breaking lows. But the enjoyment of creating something meaningful keeps our passion alive and is the core that fuels resilience, creativity and growth. We remain an independently owned, boutique brand.

Achievements & Opportunities

There have been so many over the years, and for each one, we are grateful. Here are just a few highlights.

In 2015, we were invited by Prime Minister David Cameron to represent British small businesses at the Milan Expo, where we met with the Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.

We have featured in global press, including giving interviews to BBC World, Sky, Reuters, The Sunday Times and the Telegraph. Product reviews have spanned the Wall Street Journal to Vogue. We have featured in a number of published business books and reports, including 'Working 9-5 and 5-9' by Emma Jones, Founder of Enterprise Nation and the Female Entrepreneurship Report spearheaded by Small Business Britain, respectively.

We've also had the privilege of presenting at 10 Downing Street and the Institute of Directors on topics such as running a footwear business and exporting.

We are a multi award-winning women's footwear brand. Most recently, we won Gold for 'Best Product' and 'Best Customer Service' and Janan won Silver for Most Inspiring Business Woman at the prestigious and national Best Businesswomen Awards.

Janan was crowned one of the UK’s most impressive and inspirational female entrepreneurs by Small Business Britain’s ‘f:Entrepreneur #IAlso100’ campaign, which aims to celebrate the multi-achievements of women running businesses in the UK today.

We won a regional (London) award at the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Awards and we won an Innovate UK grant and a coveted place on Innovate UK's Invest-Ability training programme.
