Black Ballet Flats Collection
Ask anyone what the dominate shoe colour is in their ballet flat collection, and 90% are going to answer black. The black ballet flat goes with pretty much everything and can be worn for most occasions.
To help our customers find their best black leather ballet flats or foldable flats in non-leather, we have created this collection
Our core black ballet flats either soft leather uppers are the Harrow, with the wedge heal, the foldable Sandringham, the quilted Piccadilly and the woven leather Clapham. The non-leather black foldable Tatiana and Perdita have been part of the collection for over 14 years, and the Barbican black foldable ballet pumps have been a classic for us since 2008.
All the black ballet flats come with a black travel purse in their shoe box.
FAQs about Black Ballet Flats
- We have started with this question, but the answer is the same for any colour. If you are in between sizes, we recommend going up to the next size in flats. We have a dedicate page to sizing that you can read here
- Find the best fit for your foot shape and width, toes should have some room to wiggle without feeling cramped, and the heel should fit snugly without lifting as you walk.
- With Cocorose we have a slightly higher vamp and padding at the heel to help with a slightly narrower foot and an elasticated top line to aid a slightly wider foot.
We have free returns and exchanges in the UK. If you are not happy in any way you can return the ballet flats for a refund, or if you would prefer we can also now offer a store credit.
Wearing socks with black ballet flats.
Traditionally ballet flats of all colours have been worn with bare feet. This year we have seen a big trend in wearing socks with trainers and ballet flats. Ballet ballet flats fits this sock trend very well, and is most seen when a bit cooler in Spring and early autumn.
The cleaning of black leather flats is much the same process as caring for any leather shoe.
- Leather: Wipe with a damp cloth to remove dirt. Ensure it is not too wet. Let the shoe dry from the light moisture. Use a leather cream and conditioner - black or neutral. Never place in a washing machine.
- Suede: Use a suede brush to remove dirt. Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap or a specialized suede cleaner, if necessary. Use protective suede spray.
- Soft sheep leather for the upper
- Breathable leather for the insole and lining. Allows feet to breath
- Cushioned insoles, particularly under the ball of the foot and the heel
- Pillow padding at the collar.
- A soft elasticated top-line - help keep secure to foot without rubbing as aggravating bunions.
- Flexible outsoles to move with your foot
When buying ballet flats with bunions in mind. Look for features such as soft leather, seam-free leather uppers, soft top line and a wider toe box. As with these Cocorose flats - these can help prevent rubbing and discomfort.
