Our Founder Janan was Live on BBC World Business

Last week on the 8th of March, we celebrated International Women's Day and our Founder Janan was invited to the BBC to chat about her entrepreneurial story and her journey of how she founded Cocorose London.

Janan was live on the BBC's programme The Inside Track with presenters Sally Bundock and Tim Willcox, which aired on BBC World Business.

Although the feature isn't available on the BBC's page any longer, we've noted some some highlights for you below;

On building great ideas into a business, how did you do it:

“Taking the brand and presenting it overseas… by trial and error…. and working with our amazing partners such as BAFTA and The Royal Ballet.”

Most rewarding moment:

“Trying to make women’s lives easier. This was why I started the concept… not just for me but for the millions of women around the world as well.”

On rejection:

“I had loads of rejection but I think that just helps to make you even more determined to want to push on and not fail.”

On starting-up:

“When I started 10 years ago, I funded the business myself. I did get knock-backs from the bank, I had to submit my business plan about 3 times before being able to get an overdraft to start. We're now starting out on our journey of raising finance for the business which will help us to accelerate our growth.”
