When and why did you decide to start blogging? I started the Wellies and Champagne blog in October 2016 as an extension to my Instagram feed. I had begun to receive lots of positive comments on my fashion-related posts and thought that a blog would give me an additional platform to describe how and where to find the perfect items of clothing to create a stylish and wearable wardrobe. A blog gave me more scope to describe how to replicate my style ideas by using a combination of my own photos and examples of key pieces on the internet, accompanied by my thoughts on a particular look. Being able to ‘shop my Instagram’ has been a great feature to allow readers to rapidly link to the websites selling my favourite pieces. This completely fits with the increasing trend of fashion shopping online. Ultimately, if I can provide a little bit of inspiration or advice that helps others feel stylish then I count that as success.     How would you describe your style? My style is definitely classic rather than uber-trendy. With a keen interest in fashion I love picking up on new trends each season but I strongly believe that you have to wear what suits you, your shape and what you feel most comfortable in. Style is all about looking good but feeling confident and comfortable in what you are wearing. Over time I’ve built up a wardrobe of classic pieces that I wear time and time again but I inject newness with bursts of colour, prints or slogan pieces. The key to making an outfit look good is all about choosing the right shoes and accessories – they really do make or break an outfit!   What is your go to outfit? If I had to choose one go-to outfit it would have to be the classic or preppy look of a Breton tee, a well fitted navy blazer and pair of jeans accompanied by a pair of leopard print flats or sneakers. It’s effortless style that never dates!   Where do you get your style inspiration from? I love of creating outfits by playing around with the existing things in my wardrobe and searching for statement pieces that can really transform an outfit in an instant. I have a deep love of clothes and fashion! A lot of my inspiration comes purely from what is already in my wardrobe. I love gathering new ideas from Pinterest and magazines. Often the looks I fall in love with in magazines will be styled from high end designer pieces, which means that however gorgeous they may be they are not affordable. However, inspiration can be taken from these looks and then replicated with high street purchases. I am a strong believer in the fact that looking good does not have to cost a fortune! Instagram can’t be ignored either when it comes to gathering style inspiration …. it is definitely the most up to date source!   What are the essentials every woman needs in their wardrobe this spring? I’ve touched on a few of these things already in my go-to look: definitely invest in a good fitting navy blazer, you’ll find it one of the most useful pieces you own as it can be styled in so many different ways. The same applies to a denim jacket, it’s one of those items I couldn’t be without. I particularly love styling a denim jacket with something sparkly or slightly dressier – it creates a good balance and allows you to get away with wearing dressier things during the day without looking over-dressed! A white dress and white embroidered blouse are definite must haves, both can be so easily accessorised and will give you endless possibilities when it comes to creating different outfits. If you are going to add some pattern to your wardrobe, polka dots and leopard print remain very much a key look for the spring.   What are your favourite styles from the Cocorose London SS18 Collection? There are so many gorgeous styles within the SS18 collection that it is hard to choose! But for versatility, the contrast coloured toe capped Harrow ballerinas are my favourite. They have a chic style & timeless quality that will not date. As a huge fan of stripes I adore the new Carnaby nautical stripe espadrilles – in a classic navy and white stripe with a striking red heart and pom pom embellishment, what’s not to love? I have a feeling these will be accompanying me on many days out this summer!
