This month we are shining the spotlight on our fabulous stockist Heel for Leather, based in Teddington. A brand new boutique, Heel for Leather was founded by Julia Hancock earlier this year in March 2012. Asked why she decided to open a shoe boutique, Julia shared with us her sadness about not being able to find shoes that she particularly liked, and so decided that it was high time to do something about it! Having spent time in Spain a few years ago, Julia gained great insight and access to wonderfully made, well priced shoes and the rest, as they say, is history. Heel for Leather is a light and airy boutique, complete with wooden floors and well displayed shoes. Julia's partner Ron Evans owns a business in graphics so Heel for Leather always looks polished and ready for the season ahead, with great window displays to entice customers into its warm and friendly interiors.
Heel for Leather isn't your usual, run-of-the-mill shoe shop and it's refreshing to know this. Julia seeks out shoes that are a little bit different, reasonably priced and well made. There are a number of brands on display within the store and Julia's favourites include Audley, Cocorose London, A Morelli, Rose Noire, Filippa Scott and not to forget the lovely Love Art Wear Art. For those seeking that little bit of a difference, Julia's wardrobe essentials for this season include an elegant pair of boots, 'let's say a pair of black suede ankle boots from Audley'; a pair of every day wedges from Mascaro; and of course, a pair of Cocorose London's Classic Elegance Penelope foldable ballet flats 'because they're so versatile and so very comfortable.'
